The People

Isabel Deeik, Co-Founder

Isabel was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey; growing up in Istanbul shaped her love for food and wine. Her favorite indigenous grapes of Turkey are Bogazkere and Okuzgozu, red varietals that enchanted her palette as she was developing a taste for wine. Wine became a passion for Isabel during her travels to Europe and while living in Paris. Isabel completed her Masters in Marketing in Chicago, IL. She lives her passion daily as co-founder of GrapeHeart Vineyards. Partnering with her husband, Isabel and Ramzi aim to produce high quality wines in Napa, CA

Dr. Ramzi Deeik, Co-Founder

The heart, as I see it, has two functions. One is obvious and essential, for which I have dedicated my career to surgically restore when damaged. The second is far less predictable. Every time we connect emotionally with others, the second function may resurface. Life is beautiful at those essential moments, moments when our hearts become sensory.

“I’m a big believer in the benefits of wine for prevention of heart disease, as well as a Mediterranean diet and exercise.”

Jean Hoefliger, Consultant Winemaker

Jean Hoeflinger was born and raised in Switzerland. His passion, knowledge, innate ability and scientific training put him in a unique position to take the best grapes of the North Coast AVA Wine Country, right along side Napa Valley and transform them into wines worthy of world class standing. Jean came to California where he spent five years as winemaker for Newton Vineyard. While at Newton Vineyards, Jean’s Epic Merlot received 94 points and Puzzle 96 points from Robert Parker, while acquiring a phenomenal 97 points with his 2003 Unfiltered Chardonnay. In 2005, Jean began working as a Consulting Winemaker for different wineries and chateaux in different parts of the world – from Napa Valley to Switzerland to Italy.

The Winery

GrapeHeart celebrates the heritage of making delicious wines, by hand, on a small scale, while emphasizing the artistry of the master winemaker. Grapes are carefully selected from our vineyard in Suisun Valley, providing an excellent base for our winemaker from which to extract concentrated aromas and flavors, ultimately creating elegant, unique, well rounded red wines with rich texture and a long lasting, balanced finish.

"We are dedicated exclusively to 100 percent single vineyard wines that best express the distinguish personality of the vineyard. What makes Suisun Valley wines special is that our’s is the 2nd oldest wine valley in the area after Napa Valley. Similar terroir, complexity and quality without Napa Valley wine prices."
